研究の背景と目的

今回の共同研究では、放送コンテンツを、生活の流れの中で自然に届ける仕組みを検証しています。 たとえば、リビングに設置されたmuiボードが、天気や電力使用量などの暮らしに役立つ情報を表示する中で、ユーザーの関心に合った文字ニュースを表示します。文字ニュースにタッチすると、テレビに関連するニュース動画が映し出されます。さらに詳しく知りたい場合は、muiボードにキーワードを手書きで入力することで、関連動画を絞り込んで再生することも可能です。

mui Lab, the Kyoto-based calm-technology startup, today announced that its “mui Platform” has received Matter certification, becoming Japan’s first smart home controller system approved for the industry-unifying IoT interoperability standard. The certification, given specifically for the Platform’s software component** that integrates Matter devices seamlessly, enables the company to license the technology to third parties to help them create their own “calm” IoT controllers to engender peaceful everyday moments. The Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA)’s seal of approval for the platform also signifies the company’s entry to the ranks of Google, Apple and Amazon as one of less than a dozen players in the global Matter controller market. Global licensing services will become available immediately, followed by the release of “mui Board 2nd Gen,” the Matter version of the company’s flagship wooden smart home control board, early next year.&nbsp; “While almost 1,000 Matter devices by dozens of makers are on the market, only a very small number of companies, chiefly global tech giants, have successfully secured Matter approval for their controllers that connect those devices together. Built on the success of the original mui Board launched in 2019, “mui Board Gen 2” brings carbon footprint reduction into focus as a vital element of family wellness. 自然素材の木と、ワコムと共同開発したタッチパネル技術を組み合わせたmuiボード第1世代を継承。「最も深淵なテクノロジーはその姿を消す」というカームテクノロジー※の理念を継承し、インテリア空間に調和し、必要ではない時はその姿を消すコンセプトを21世紀に再現しました。

加えて、ワコムとAI技術やデジタルインク技術の共同開発を2019年から進めてまいりました。muiボード第2世代では、ボード上に残した筆跡などの家族の瞬間を、muiプラットフォームへ記録。家族の記憶を紡ぎ続けます。

You can now operate SwitchBot Smart Curtains and Smart Locks directly from your mui Board. With these new features, from welcoming in the morning light to ensuring peace of mind before bedtime, the mui Board is able to support more moments of your everyday life.

Smart Curtain

Now, with a single tap on mui Board, you can open or close your curtains. You can open or close multiple curtains at once, or adjust them by location, such as the living room, dining room, or your workspace. Even slightly adjusting your curtains to let in a single ray of sun on a sleepy morning is now possible from your mui Board. Example scenes:<ul><li>As you wake up, you tap the mui Board to bring the morning sunlight into your room, gently waking you up, and bringing you a refreshing start to your day.</li><li>Before you head out, close all curtains at once with a single tap and head out effortlessly.</li></ul>

Smart Lock

mui Board now also allows you to check and control the smart locks in your home. Control multiple locks at once and check if your doors are locked all on the mui board, bringing you peace of mind. mui Lab株式会社は、2026年1月6日から9日まで米国ラスベガスで開催される世界最大級のテクノロジー見本市「CES 2026」にて、Matterでつながる「くらしのOS」が、mui Labのデザインとエンジニアリングによって穏やかにライフスタイルに溶け込んだ未来のスマートホーム体験を提示します。CESには今回で6年連続の出展となり、これまで「CES Innovation Awards」を通算4度受賞。一貫して「テクノロジーが溶け込むくらし」という変わらない価値を発信し続けてきましたが、今年は、コンセプトや自社デバイスを中心とした展示から、さらに一歩先へ進展。日本を代表するパートナー企業とともに、アプリケーションからUI、サービスまで、多様なレイヤーを通して「くらし」に実装されたカームテクノロジーを、グローバルへと提示します。

◾️寝室/リビングルーム/玄関での体感展示家の形をしたブースの中に、初公開予定のベッドルームでのウェルビーイングな睡眠体験や、身体の自然な動作を介して照明を操作できるデモ展示など、くらしのさまざまなシーンにおける体験を散りばめています。また、三菱地所との共同開発により、同社の総合スマートホームサービス「HOMETACT」に搭載された、エネルギーの利用状況を直感的に可視化できる「Energy Window」機能を紹介します。さらに美和ロックからは、現在開発中の新製品や「Matter」に対応したスマートロックの展示などを実施。「muiボード」との連携デモなどを通じて、日常に楽しさをもたらす未来のセキュリティ体験を提案します。
